Colin cut

While we were in Austin at NI Week, Colin decided to give Nathan a haircut! This is what it looked like after the hair stylist "fixed" it.

Hold hands

The brotherly bond between Colin and Nathan just keeps getting stronger and stronger everyday. It's a beautiful thing to see. Nathan has been going in the car to school with Colin, and he loves it. I just watched them holding hands, head down toward the car, just as cute as can be. I guess that when they got to school, Colin insisted that Nathan walk with him to the gate. Then they hugged and kissed good-bye.

Nathan had his interview for Colin's school a couple weeks ago so we have been talking about Nathan going to Colin's school next fall. About a week ago, Colin asked me if today is the day that Nathan gets to go to school with him. He is so excited for that.

We took the kids to a pasta potluck before the marathon. At first the boys were overwhelmed by all the people, and were very shy. But by the end of the night, they were running around, holding hands of course. A couple people commented to me that they thought Colin and Nathan were closer in age. Probably because they get along so well.

I hope that they are always this close and are the best of friends as well as brothers. A mom can hope!

"Nathan did it"

What Colin says everytime something bad happens. Sometimes it's true. But we can't tell when it isn't. Nathan hurry up and start talking so you can defend yourself!

Inseparable

Colin just adores his little brother. It's just amazing that they have bounded so much in Nathan's 17 months. When Nathan has to take a nap or go to bed before Colin, Colin really protests, "I want to play with Nathan!" over and over and over and over ...

Colin's best friends

Harrison goes to school with Colin, and they spend a lot of time together. We have done some playdates at Harrison's and vise versa. A couple of nights ago, Colin accidently called Nathan "Harrison", and he thought it was so funny! So he kept on doing it! Last night Colin kept saying to Nathan, "Harrison, come over here." So I asked Colin, "Who is your best friend?" His immediate response, "Harrison and Nathan!" My heart just melted, Nathan is not only Colin's little brother but his best friend!

Psychic link?

Flashback ... When Nathan was first born and sleeping in our room, we noticed that sometimes after Nathan woke up in the middle of the night, we'd hear Colin stirring. It was like there was a connection between the two boys. There was no way that Colin could hear Nathan, Colin was all the way upstairs (in the house in Roswell), and our bedroom was downstairs. And Colin sleeps very soundly. It was really eerie because it happened fairly often.

Two nights ago, it happened again. Colin woke up at 3am and came into our room. Soon after Nathan started stirring. Well, maybe this time wasn't so eerie because Nathan does not sleep very well and all three bedrooms are on the same floor now in the new house.

Big guy/ little guy

The other day Colin pinched his finger or fell down (I don't exactly remember), and I went to comfort him. Afterward he reminded me that when he was crying (for whatever reason), that I called him "my little guy". Well, he informed me that he was the "big guy" and Nathan was the "little guy". I guess I will try not to make that mistake again!
